🚒 Ever wanted to see what it's like to be a firefighter?

The Prosper Citizens Fire Academy gives residents a hands-on opportunity to experience fire service training, work with specialized equipment and learn how Prosper Fire Rescue responds to emergencies every day.

Congratulations to Prosper CERT Program Manager Cindy Toops on receiving the 2026 Regional Service Excellence Award from the North Central Texas Council of Governments Moulage Subcommittee!

As a skilled moulage artist, Cindy creates realistic injury simulations that help first responders, healthcare professionals, and emergency personnel train for real-world emergencies. Her volunteer contributions have supported emergency preparedness efforts across the region, including a recent mass casualty exercise at Baylor Scott & White Hospital on PGA Parkway.

We are proud to see Cindy recognized for the countless hours, creativity, and expertise she brings to emergency preparedness training. Thank you, Cindy, for helping ensure our responders are ready when it matters most!

SIREN TEST: The monthly outdoor warning system test will take place today at noon. Test activation of the system occurs on the first Wednesday of each month (weather permitting).

* Flash Flood Warning for...
Collin County in north central Texas...

* Until 100 PM CDT.

* At 1049 AM CDT, Doppler radar reported thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. The public also reported
flooding due on SH 78 on northeast Collin County. In addition,
between 1-2 inches of rain has fallen in southern Collin County
with additional heavy rain expected to continue for the next few
hours. Flash flooding is ongoing or imminent.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Public reported.

IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other
poor drainage and low lying areas. Ponding on roadways
is imminent or occurring.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Dallas, Plano, McKinney, Frisco, Richardson, Allen, Wylie, Sachse,
Murphy, Prosper, Royse City, Anna, Fairview, Princeton, Celina,
Lucas, Melissa, Parker, Farmersville and Van Alstyne.

ADVISORY: Crews are responding to a gas line that was struck on Lovers Lane west of Preston Road. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes.
