🌟 Celebrating Juneteenth | June 19 🌟
Juneteenth is a day that honors freedom, history, and hope. It marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved people in the United States learned they were free—over two years after slavery had officially ended.
For our young learners, this is a meaningful chance to talk about fairness, kindness, and respect for all people.
“Freedom is never given; it is won.” — A. Philip Randolph
💬 Family Ideas to Celebrate: 📖 Read a children’s book about Juneteenth or freedom (https://youtu.be/WpbOAfurBks?feature=shared)
🎨 Create art using red, white, and blue (Juneteenth flag colors)
🎶 Enjoy music and stories that celebrate African American culture
❤️ Talk together about what freedom means
By learning together, we help our children grow into thoughtful, compassionate community members.

Congratulations to all of the student storytellers who bravely took the stage and shared their voices, experiences, and creativity. The talent, confidence, and authenticity on display were truly inspiring.
A very special thank you to Ms. Devine for organizing this amazing event and for the countless hours she spent helping students prepare. Your dedication, encouragement, and belief in these young storytellers made this night possible, and it showed in every performance.
The stories were powerful, the students were outstanding, and the entire evening was a reminder of what can happen when young people are given the opportunity to be heard.
