Looking back on a meaningful community partnership. 💙

Earlier this year, JTNN had the opportunity to provide an Affirmation Box to Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC), along with prevention and resource pamphlets for their resource wall. The Affirmation Box was made available to children and families staying at RMHC while loved ones received medical care, offering messages of encouragement, hope, and strength.

We are grateful to support organizations that make a difference for families during challenging times and help create a caring, connected community.

Yesterday, JTNN had the opportunity to attend the Diaper Giveaway Event hosted by Molina Healthcare of Nevada, Empowered, and Northern Nevada HOPES!

It was a great example of community partners coming together to support families by providing access to essential resources. We’re grateful to be part of these efforts and to continue working alongside organizations making a difference in Northern Nevada.

JTNN also provides free maternal health rides to help individuals get to prenatal, postpartum, and other maternal care appointments.

If you’re interested in scheduling a ride, you can learn more here: https://survey.alchemer.com/s3/8719344/Uber-Maternal-Health

We’re excited to highlight Clayton Middle School and their incredible PSA project! 🎥

They shared their appreciation for Orange Tree for filming and producing the PSA, and HIDTA for funding the project. It’s amazing to see what can happen when schools and community partners come together to support student voices.

We're excited to welcome our newest team member to JTNN!

Jimena recently graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno and earned her Bachelor of Science in Public Health. Through the public health program she found her passion for substance abuse prevention and strengthening awareness within our community.

Prior to UNR, she studied Health Sciences at Chapman University in Orange County for a year and a half . For the last two and a half years she has worked as a certified chiropractic assistant for a locally owned office here in Reno.

Fun fact: Jimena was a born and raised in Reno! In her free time you can find her enjoying time up at the lake, spending time with friends and family, and attending concerts! We look forward to the skills, ideas, and insight she will bring to our team as we continue serving Northern Nevada and making a positive impact throughout our communities.

Her previous work experience includes working as an independent consultant for a startup. Ana also has 5 years of experience working for a grass-roots non-profit organization in the bay area doing coaching, coordinating and grant management. She has helped diverse populations including low-income individuals and families; immigrants, monolingual Spanish speakers improve their equity and quality of life.

A fun fact about Ana is that she loves learning all kinds of crafts like sewing, drawing and embroidery. She would like to learn pottery next!

JTNN had an incredible day partnering with Sierra Nevada Journeys for a fun and engaging experience focused on learning, teamwork, and the importance of prevention.

Throughout the day, students worked together, encouraged one another, and created a safe and supportive environment where everyone felt included. Seeing the sense of community and connection they built with each other was truly rewarding.

These experiences help empower young people to build confidence, strengthen relationships, and better understand the importance of supporting one another.

Thank you to Sierra Nevada Journeys and everyone involved for making this day such a success!
