As Elle Woods said, exercise releases endorphins and endorphins make you happy. Oh, and you can talk to the people you're working out with.

ACCESS - IGCS 06/16/2026

Tomorrow is the first in a 3-webinar series on building resilient systems towards cervical cancer elimination. Lily is back from a few days in Dallas for the 2026 National HPV Roundtable and National Roundtable on Cervical Cancer Screening meeting hosted by our partners at American Cancer Society. We'd say they hit the nail on the head with the priorities, the first two of which covered increasing on-time HPV vaccination starting at age 9 and increasing uptake of cervical cancer screening. Seems easy, actually isn't.

If you're interested in getting to work on these priorities and more alongside Lily and other partners across Nevada, join our HPV & Related Cancers Collaborative.

Cancer survivorship support can sound kind of hippy-dippy to some people with yoga, qigong and sound baths. What's the deal?

Bringing humanity back to dying: How end-of-life doulas support families | Nevada Cancer Coalition 06/11/2026

Have you heard of end-of-life doulas? The profession and service is gaining steam, and while it sounds innovative in our highly clinical healthcare system, it's actually a throwback to when families gathered around a dying person, came together to help during the process, and served as witness to a person's life.

Las Vegas EOL Doula Chris Ruggiero notes that as humans, it's only been for the last 125 years or so that we've tapered off the humanity in how we care for those who are dying. Read more in her guest post on NCC's ThriveNV blog.

Cervical Cancer Screening Guidelines 06/10/2026

Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable cancers, yet too many Nevada women are overdue for screening.

The good news? Screening options continue to expand. Recent American Cancer Society guidelines now include self-collected HPV testing as an option for some people, helping reduce barriers and making screening more accessible. HPV testing can find the virus that causes nearly all cervical cancers before cancer develops.

If you're 21-65, talk with your health care provider about which screening option is right for you. A few minutes today could help prevent cancer tomorrow.

Cervical Cancer Screening Guidelines The American Cancer Society recommends that women and other individuals with a cervix follow these recommendations to help find cervical cancer early.

Research released last month in JAMA Oncology found the 9-valent HPV vaccine is associated with a lower risk of HPV-related cancers in adolescents and younger males. The study included more than 1 million males ages 9-26, half of whom received the HPV vaccine. After 10 years, those who were vaccinated were less likely to develop HPV-related cancers.

The HPV vaccine also reduces risk of HPV-related cancers in any gender if administered as recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Find out more and locate a place to get the vaccine at https://hpvfreenv.org/.
