This year, Sierra Medical Center reached a major milestone with the designation of its new Level III NICU, helping ensure more newborns can receive advanced care close to home.

Through efforts like these, partners like Northern Nevada Health System show their deep commitment to our community each and every day, and we’re honored to celebrate them as a valued partner.

Today we recognize Juneteenth, which commemorates June 19, 1865, when Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, to enforce the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.

Juneteenth is a reminder of the strength and resilience of those who endured slavery, and of the generations who have continued to face injustice. It invites all of us to reflect on the past and continue working toward a more just and compassionate future. At The Children’s Cabinet, we believe in supporting every child and family with care, respect, and a commitment to doing what’s right.

In observance of Juneteenth, all Children’s Cabinet offices are closed today.
