📚✨ A legacy that will inspire generations. Last month, Los Angeles Jewish Health unveiled Tanya's Gift, a sculpture dedicated to the memory of Dr. Rosalyn Heyman—a beloved supporter, philanthropist, and friend. Created by noted local artist Jonathan Bickart, the sculpture depicts a young girl sitting atop a stack of books, a tribute to Heyman's distinguished career as a pioneering figure in the Los Angeles education landscape. The piece also features a small lending library, reflecting her lifelong passion for education and learning.

Celebrating tradition, community, and a little ice cream! 🍦

On the eve of Shavuot, it is customary to enjoy dairy products, such as cheese, milk, and blintzes instead of meat. In this spirit, before the traditional Shavuot service, residents of Grancell Village gathered to enjoy a delicious ice cream tasting. From the six flavors sampled, salted caramel emerged as the champion.

✨ “The Magic is YOU!” ✨ At LAJH we celebrated the people who make our impact possible — our dedicated employees. Staff Appreciation Week gave us a chance to recognize the compassion, skill, and care that our team brings to residents, families, and one another.

This year, the theme was “Excellence in Senior Care…the Magic is YOU!” Staff came together to participate in activities such as the “Magic Star Makers Employee Recognition,” “Cast Your Own Spell,” and the always popular “No Talent Required Variety Show.” They also enjoyed mystical meals including “enchanted donuts,” “spellbinding smoothies,” “magical morning breakfast,” and a “Power-Up Abraca-BBQ Cookout.” The staff truly provides the special spark behind so many extraordinary moments every day, and residents cherished the opportunity to say thank you.

Whether providing direct care, supporting operations behind the scenes, welcoming families, preparing meals, maintaining the campuses, or offering a kind word during a difficult moment, each member of our team contributes meaningfully to the lives of the seniors we serve.
