This month's training session focused on reviewing fundamental water rescue operations, equipping members with knowledge of various tactics and familiarizing them with the operational protocols of our rescue boat. A crucial takeaway from the training was demonstrating the simplicity and effectiveness of our rescue boat's setup. By collaborating with neighboring departments that utilize different types of boats, we can choose the best tools available given the situation.

Congratulations to Brianna Young for completing the Crescent Volunteer Fire Department Jr. Program!

We wish her luck with her future endeavors as she is going to attend Penn State university to study psychology.

Brianna has been an outstanding volunteer while she has been in the program. She received the $500 Pine Lake Fire Department Auxiliary Scholarship for all her hard work.

This week, our volunteers participated in a refresher training on pump operations. They reviewed key topics such as water supply, jet siphoning, hose relay, and the pump panels. We appreciate the dedication of all members to enhance their skills and better serve the community.

This past Sunday was the Rhinelander Community Scholarship Awards Ceremony. Fire Chief Brian Gehrig & Nancy Gehrig awarded Brianna Young the $500 Pine Lake Firefighters Department Auxiliary Scholarship. We have awarded this Scholarship for 25+ years to a student that serves for a Volunteer Fire Department or whom has a family member affiliated with a Community Volunteer Fire Department. Brianna is majoring in psychology at Penn State University and has also volunteered for the Crescent Vol. Fire Dept. Congratulations Bri

Today North Star came to perform annual inspections and pump testing of our fleet. This company provides a great on site service for emergency apparatus.

This week, members received training on utilizing a Rapid Intervention Team (R.I.T.) pack system, which provides supplementary breathing air in emergencies encountered by firefighters. Furthermore, they reviewed the standard 'MAYDAY' protocol for requesting assistance via radio.

We thank Pelican Fire & Rescue for letting us borrow a pack for us to train with. Pelican Fire is automatically dispatched for our structure fire calls to provide a R.I.T. team.
