RivCoED joined business and community leaders from across the region at the Inland Empire Innovation & Opportunity Business Forum. Keynote speaker Randall W. Lewis and a diverse group of business leaders shared perspectives on business growth, workforce development, innovation, and investment across the Inland Empire. He shared how innovation in commercial and residential development have impacted Lewis Group Of Companies investments.

Riverside County continues to grow as a hub for innovation, talent, and opportunity. Home to more than 30 colleges, universities, and vocational institutions, including leading educational partners such as UC Riverside, CSUSB, California Baptist University, and more. The region is cultivating a highly skilled workforce and helping transform research and entrepreneurship into economic opportunity.

This morning's Southwest Regional Economic Forecast gathered business and community leaders to discuss the economic outlook and future opportunities across Southwest Riverside County. One key takeaway shared by Matthew Tate of Capital Rivers Connect was that nearly two thirds of Southwest Riverside County’s workforce is employed in white collar occupations, highlighting the region's strong talent base and capacity to support higher wage jobs, business investment, and long-term economic growth.

The event also showcased exciting current and future developments taking place throughout Southwest Riverside County, reinforcing the region's continued momentum and economic growth.

This morning, the RivCoED team had the pleasure of attending a Brokers Breakfast hosted by Visit Greater Palm Springs, in partnership with the cities of City of Palm Desert, City of Rancho Mirage, The City of Desert Hot Springs, and City of Cathedral City, CA - City Government. The event brought together more than 40 professionals from local government, economic development, and the commercial real estate sector for a valuable opportunity to connect. Attendees heard directly from local government officials and engaged in discussions on collaborative strategies to strengthen economic development across the region. Discussions centered on targeted industry sectors and proactive strategies for attracting future development opportunities.

Voltu Motor celebrated the ribbon cutting of its new Riverside facility, marking a major milestone in the company’s U.S. expansion and a significant investment in the City of Riverside, CA - City Government and Riverside County.

Attendees heard from company leadership and regional partners about Voltu’s innovative approach to electrified heavy-duty vehicles, including the launch of the fully electric Voltu3, built on a Ford F-350 chassis and powered by the company’s proprietary battery and electrical systems.

Originally from Argentina, Voltu has worked alongside RivCoED for the past four years as the company planned its U.S. growth. Its success reflects the power of collaboration among regional partners, including the City of Riverside, CA - Community & Economic Development Department, UCR RED, and other amazing regional partners.

Looking ahead, Voltu plans to manufacture up to 14,000 heavy-duty trucks within three years and create more than 400 jobs over the next four years - further strengthening Riverside County’s growing advanced manufacturing and clean technology ecosystem.
