The final full day is complete!!!
The day started with the usual 0600 workout which the girls rocked like usual! ๐ช๐ผ Then it was learning how to build their resume and practicing their interview skills which they improved greatly at! Next, they had a formal room inspection from Commander Sayre- which caused them a tremendous amount of stress but they passed with flying colors! Then it was a fun afternoon of paintball and fishing with the COP House fishing crew! ๐ฃ Their final task was carrying the SCYLA log 1.25 miles as a team. Once they chose to have a positive mindset and work together- it was no problem for them! These 4 days flew by and we are so proud of them and excited to celebrate their success tomorrow! See you at graduation! ๐๐ป๐

Day 3 was a long but great day! Cadre got the mascot, so smoke session it was to earn it back! The SCPD SWAT members came to show them their equipment and let them try it out! Then Dr. Verna Price from the Power of People Leadership Institute came and gave them a very valuable talk about how to become a leader which these girls have been showing us they know how to do the past couple days! The Stearns County Attorneyโs Office then came and spoke to the girls about the juvenile justice system and had the girls play different roles in a mock trial. Next, it was out to the woods for an obstacle course and they worked hard with their teams to get the quickest time! They finished out the evening with art with Heidi from Heijeu Arts. Thenโฆ..CADRE GOT THE MASCOT AGAIN! ๐ So another ๐จ Smoke Session to earn it back! These girls are still impressing us with their positivity and determination! We know they are going to finish out the week strong! ๐ช๐ผ

Day Two is complete! Their first speaker was Terrence Talley who talked to them about having a positive mindset and that your past doesnโt dictate your future! He also signed a copy of his book โSecrets Anonymousโ for each of them. Then the girls did several fun, but challenging team building exercises which tested their patience with each other but they worked through it and learned to work TOGETHER as a TEAM! They even took cadre on in a dodgeball game! ๐ Next, Allison Murray shared her personal story about Domestic Violence and they finished out the evening with some fun activities and splatter painting with Leah from Emotion in Motion! ๐จ They are working hard to stay positive and are excited for Day Three!

The Fishing Crew kicked off their fishing season this week with an overnight camping trip at Frontenac State Park. The following morning, members of St. Cloud Fire took the crew out on Lake Pepin for a day on the water.
The crew enjoyed a great day of fishing, followed by a cookout to wrap up the trip. Thank you to St. Cloud Fire for helping make it a memorable start to the season!

๐ Champions! ๐
A huge congratulations to our More Than Hoops Greater MN 15U Girls Basketball Team on bringing home the championship this past weekend in Forest Lake!
This special group is made up of student-athletes from three different St. Cloud-area schools, coached by dedicated SCPD staff members. Despite being only their second tournament together as a team, these girls showed incredible chemistry, determination, and growth throughout the weekend, finishing with a perfect 3-0 record and earning the championship trophy.
What makes this accomplishment even more impressive is the way these athletes have come together in such a short amount of time. Their teamwork, effort, unselfish play, and commitment to improving as an individual but also as a team each day were on full display all weekend long.
We are incredibly proud of the progress they continue to make on and off the court, and we canโt wait to see what the rest of the season has in store for them.
Congratulations, your hard work is paying off! Keep growing, keep competing, and keep representing More Than Hoops with pride! ๐ค๐๐๐
