We've got a brand new exhibit hatching at GRCM! The Sound Seekers exhibit is now open! Explore how insects hear, communicate and respond to sound! This exhibit is only here for the summer, so make sure to check it out on your next visit!

Sound Seekers is a collaborative art exhibit by St. Cloud State University and St. Olaf Students and Faculty!

St. Cloud State University has partnered with the Great River Children’s Museum to develop the new interactive exhibit “Sound Seekers.”

The exhibit, which opens tomorrow, June 20, will focus on how animals eavesdrop on communication signals for survival and reproduction. It also features a range of activities that allow visitors to experience how scientists investigate questions in animal communication.

Every spring, the St. Cloud State University Community Garden waits for the soil to warm before planting its tomatoes. This year, the wait carries an added significance: This month, the garden will put the Husky Tomato in the ground for the first time. The non-GMO variety has been developed through years of collaboration between the garden and SCSU’s Department of Biology. Now, it’s being put to the test in its first outdoor field trial.

Join us at Summertime by George next Wednesday, June 24!

Since arriving at St. Cloud State University in 2024, Javelia Morrison-Galimore has taken activism to the next level. Her latest efforts include drafting and championing a student parent bill that passed the 94th Minnesota State Legislature in May.

The bill focuses on establishing protections for parenting students, improving academic flexibility, and beginning statewide data collection to better understand and support parents at all of Minnesota’s universities. Once it’s passed into law, pregnant and parenting students will receive priority registration.
