Salisbury City Council has adopted the Fiscal Year (FY) 2026-2027 Budget. The fiscal year will begin on July 1, 2026.

Key highlights of the FY 2026 – 2027 adopted budget include:
•Street Resurfacing - $1.5 million
•Fire Engine - $750,000
•Roof, HVAC, and Facilities Repair and Upgrades: $300,000 for Roof and HVAC, $100,000 for Fleet Restroom Repairs, $100,000 for Price High School Boiler Repair
•Ellis and Bank Street Bridge Repair - $200,000
•Bell Tower Improvements - $140,000
•Economic Development Strategic Plan - $50,000

Here's what's happening at the Tuesday, June 16, 2026, Salisbury City Council meeting. The meeting starts at 6 p.m.

Residents who wish to speak in person may sign up for public comment in the council chambers until the public comment period closes. Written comments received by 5 p.m. on the meeting day will be shared with city council members but will not be read out loud during the meeting.

The meeting will be streamed live at SalisburyNC.gov/Webcast and on the city's Facebook account. You can also view the meeting later, on demand, at SalisburyNC.gov/Videos.

The City of Salisbury will host the next installment of its Cultivating Community Conversations series on Tuesday, June 23, at 6 p.m. at the Salisbury Civic Center, 315 S. Martin Luther King Jr. Ave. Residents are encouraged to attend, ask questions, and learn more about how the new city-operated recycling program will help support a cleaner, more Sustainable Salisbury.
