“We strongly condemn antisemitism, hate, and any ideology that seeks to divide or intimidate members of our community.
“Many residents have expressed legitimate concerns about Ye’s scheduled July 4th concert, and we take those concerns seriously.
“We can condemn hate without resorting to censorship, which could set a precedent toward limiting expression based on objectionable viewpoints. The City does not endorse his rhetoric by allowing use of a public venue, just as a public library does not endorse every book’s viewpoint simply by carrying it.
“This event also matters economically. It is projected to generate roughly $1.7 million for the Alamodome, and hotel reservations are already up 22% since the concert was announced meaning real benefits for our local businesses, restaurants, and workers.
“These considerations do not diminish our opposition to hate in any form. We remain committed to ensuring that all communities feel welcome and safe in our city.
“San Antonio stands united against antisemitism and all forms of hatred, and we remain committed to fostering a community where everyone feels safe, welcome, and respected.”

Recently honored to break ground on the Asian Resource Center of San Antonio alongside current and former city officials from across the city, and the community who made it happen.
I can’t wait to see it open in 2027. Thank you to everyone who has worked so hard to make it real. Asian Resource Center of San Antonio

I recently gave the opening remarks at ’s 2026 Symposium. San Antonio has been at the center of the Mexican American civil rights movement, and it meant a lot to welcome the leaders and who have made history on this front.
Thank you to the Mexican American Civil Rights Institute (MACRI) and Texas Public Radio for bringing this event to life.
This morning a water leak broke out in District 7… again. This comes weeks before Council is set to vote on a 32% rate increase.
Water is SAWS’ inventory. When a business hemorrhages its inventory at this scale, the answer can’t be to charge customers more. It is to fix the operation.
But I want to hear from you. Take our SAWS rate survey here:
