Celebrate Juneteenth Weekend at the Parman Branch Library at Stone Oak! 🌟
Although the library is closed on Juneteenth, we invite you to visit during the weekend that follows to experience a special art exhibit honoring the history, culture, and legacy of freedom celebrated on Juneteenth.
On display are works from the private collection of Dr. D.L. Grant and the Carver Branch Library. The exhibit offers a meaningful opportunity to explore stories, perspectives, and artistic expressions that reflect the significance of this important day.
The exhibit is available during regular library hours through July 1.

An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect today, June 18, from noon to 8 p.m.
The City urges all residents to prepare now to stay cool and safe during extreme heat. A top priority for the City is ensuring all residents are safe during hot weather. 🌡️☀️
Take precautions now to stay safe in the heat:
- Stay hydrated by drinking water regularly
- Avoid outdoor activity during peak heat (2–7 p.m.)
- Wear light, loose clothing and sunscreen
- Find shade or visit one of the City’s Places to Stay Cool
