Today, I joined State Representative Eddie Morales Jr. in calling for swift action to protect Texas ranchers, livestock producers, and rural communities from the threat of New World screwworm.

This is exactly the kind of issue state leaders should be responding to with urgency. A serious outbreak could put an entire industry at risk, threaten our food supply chain, and hit rural economies across Texas hard.

As Lt. Governor, I will make sure Texas responds swiftly to threats like this and is prepared to protect the families, communities, and industries with livelihoods on the line.
