A stormy week is expected with active storms expected to escalate over Central Texas and Hill Country by early Tuesday evening and spread south across much of South Central Texas Tuesday night. There is a potential for severe storms mainly for Tuesday night, but repeated rounds of rain are possible which could lead to localized flooding Tuesday night through Thursday.
Did you know South Central Texas is one of the most flood-prone regions in the country?
As we recognize Flood Awareness Week (May 18–22), here’s what you need to know to help keep our community safe.
Flood safety reminders:
• Know your flood risk before severe weather happens
• Turn Around, Don’t Drown®, never drive through flooded roads
• Stay informed by turning on weather and emergency alerts
• Follow official guidance during flooding events
• Use caution and clean up safely after a flood

Nine years of remembering our brother, however for many of us it feels like yesterday. We carry your memory in our hearts. Scott Patrick Deem died on May 18, 2017 from injuries sustained when he was trapped in a structural collapse during a four-alarm fire.
