Our City Forest’s Community Nursery & Training Center will be closed on Thursday, June 19, in honor of Juneteenth.

Our regular hours are:
Thursday–Friday: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Saturday: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM
Closed Sunday–Wednesday

Earlier this month, we had our Annual Spring Festival! 🌸 A wonderful celebration of community, nature, and environmental learning. Hundreds of families, volunteers, and neighbors joined us for a fun-filled day of workshops, arts and crafts, music, educational activities, and hands-on experiences throughout the nursery.

Golden Yarrow (Eriophyllum confertiflorum) is a silvery-leafed shrub named for its clusters of bright yellow flowers that resemble those of Achillea species. Despite its name, it is not a true yarrow. It is, however, a California native that attracts a range of pollinators—butterflies in particular! Golden Yarrow grows in a range of environments, from the coast to the woodlands. It is a compact, rounded shrub that grows up to 2x2ft. We currently have Golden Yarrow flowering and available at our nursery at 1000 Spring Street, open Thu-Fri from 9am-12pm and Saturdays from 9am-2pm.

What an incredible day in East San José!
This weekend, Our City Forest brought together students, families, and community leaders to plant trees and green the campuses at Ida Jew Academy and Boeger Middle School.
