One spark can start a wildfire. In hot and dry summer conditions, fireworks can ignite fast-moving fires that threaten lives, homes, and communities. Celebrate safely and avoid illegal fireworks this Fourth of July.
Hãy ăn mừng an toàn và tránh sử dụng pháo hoa bất hợp pháp.

Today is Juneteenth, a powerful reminder of freedom long delayed and the enduring pursuit of justice. It's a moment to stand with our community in remembrance, reflection, and the ongoing work toward equity.
📅 In observance of Juneteenth, SJFD’s Administrative Offices will be closed today but our emergency services will continue to operate as normal.

At 12:55 p.m. on Wednesday, SJFD firefighters responded to a vegetation fire along the Guadalupe River near Lelong St. and Willow St.
As crews surrounded the fire, they discovered three kittens inside a tunnel used for water overflow beneath the roadway. Firefighters safely rescued the tiny trio from harm before extinguishing the remaining fire.
After spending some time at Station 30, the kittens were turned over to San José Animal Care and Services.
A purr-fect ending to the incident! 🐈🚒

☀️ As we continue to experience warm weather, this is a reminder to never leave a child or pet in a vehicle unattended—even if the windows are partially open or the air conditioning is on.
A hot vehicle could become fatal within minutes. Make it a habit to check your entire vehicle before locking the door and walking away.

On Monday morning, members of the San José Fire Department joined Councilmember Domingo Candelas at The Villages to demonstrate the capabilities of our wildland firefighting apparatus for local residents.
The demonstration highlighted how SJFD’s Type 6 and Type 3 wildland engines are specifically designed to navigate the steep, off-road terrain surrounding The Villages. These specialized vehicles play a critical role in quickly accessing remote areas, supporting wildfire suppression efforts, and helping protect our communities—especially during wildfire season.
We appreciate the opportunity to connect with residents, answer questions, and showcase the equipment and resources that help keep San José safe.
