Yesterday, our board member, Andrea had the opportunity to spend the afternoon on the water with Officers Dixon and Skinner from Sarasota Police Marine Patrol. What a fantastic experience!

Not only was it a beautiful day on Sarasota Bay, but it was also incredibly educational. They learned about marine safety, conservation efforts, and the many ways our Marine Patrol officers work to keep our waterways safe for residents and visitors alike. Of course, there were plenty of laughs along the way as well...Dixon and Skinner make a pretty entertaining team!

Experiences like these provide a unique opportunity to better understand the important work our officers do every day, often behind the scenes and out of the public eye.

One of our board members, Andrea, received the sweetest text today about one of our Police Department’s Community Resource Officers, Officer Bentz.

While a group of elementary kids were out celebrating with ice cream after winning a pumpkin decorating contest, Officer Bentz happened to drive by… and instead of just passing through, she stopped to say hi.

The kids were beyond excited (honestly, I think that’s the real win over the ice cream 🍦).

It’s those small, unplanned moments that leave the biggest impact. Thank you, Officer Bentz, for taking the time to connect and making these kids’ day a little extra special 💙

You guys are showing up BIG this time around! We are so grateful!!
