At Coastal Heritage Society sites in Savannah, generations connect to history.
Your donations help fund CHS All In initiatives, including free museum admission for families receiving public benefits, thereby removing barriers and creating opportunities for curiosity, connection, and lifelong learning at sites like Georgia State Railroad Museum.
“This museum is a participant in the Museum for All program. Because of our WIC card we got in free. This place is amazing for all kids, no matter the age. The train ride was exceptional. They were very informative and I will be stopping back by very soon with my child.” — Kayla R.
As we commemorate our nation’s 250th anniversary and preserve the places where history was made, we invite you to support our mission with a special gift of $250 or by becoming a sustaining donor with a recurring $25 monthly contribution.
Every gift helps expand preservation, education, and community access.

“This was an awesome experience for my students. They learned so much about Gullah culture and were immersed in it. Our tour guide made it a very engaging experience, and students had the opportunity to question her and interact with her. I definitely recommend this place!” — teacher Michelle Autrey

Alida spent 45 years preserving both the home on Orleans Square and Savannah’s architectural heritage.

When students enter Coastal Heritage Society museums, classroom lessons turn into hands-on discovery, real-world connections, and moments that stick long after the field trip ends.
“We bring our students to Savannah Children’s Museum every spring as an integral part of our unit on pollinators. The Busy Bee program is an exceptional complement to classroom learning: engaging, hands-on, and curriculum-aligned...The combination of thoughtfully designed programs and welcoming, skilled staff makes Savannah Children's Museum an invaluable field trip destination. It provides memorable, high-impact learning that reinforces classroom instruction and inspires a lasting interest in science and discovery; reasons we will continue to return year after year.”
- Christine Bartlam
Kindergarten Teacher at Tybee Island Maritime Academy
Across all six Coastal Heritage Society sites, educators like Christine are using museum experiences to turn curriculum into something students can see, touch, and remember.
These programs are only possible with community support. Your contribution helps support museums as educators and helps ensure students across our region continue to experience high-impact learning beyond the classroom.
