The 200 Club honors the sacrifice of Officer Anthony Christie, who served 3 years with the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department until his End of Watch on May 25, 2018.
Around 2:30 a.m., Officer Christie was assisting with traffic control. While seated in his marked patrol vehicle with emergency lights activated to divert traffic away from the crash scene, his patrol car was struck by a tractor-trailer. He suffered critical injuries and later died from those injuries.
Officer Christie was a U.S. Navy veteran who served 13 years as a Master-at-Arms Second Class before joining the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police Department in 2015. He was assigned to the Central Precinct and was recognized for his service, including helping rescue a missing child in 2016.
