We recognize Juneteenth as a reminder that freedom must include access to opportunity.
In an op-ed for the Seattle Medium's 2026 Juneteenth Commemorative Edition, our CEO Gina Hall shares a simple truth: A safer Seattle starts with economic opportunity — jobs, housing stability, and pathways forward.
At Uplift Northwest, we see this every day through the power of providing an alternative pathway for people.

11 cohorts strong and still RISE-ing!↗️
On Friday, we celebrated the graduation of the 11th cohort of Uplift Northwest’s RISE Program.
In just four weeks, these graduates built the skills, confidence, and momentum to take their next step toward lasting employment and stability through RISE.
The celebration also marked a special moment for our new Chief Mission Officer, Degale Cooper, as she joined her first RISE graduation (with many more to come)!
“What an exciting day for RISE graduates! This cohort put their best selves forward to achieve success. Way to go, RISE Cohort 11!” - Degale
👏 To our graduates: your hard work inspires us, and we can’t wait to see what’s next.
👏 To Degale: welcome! We’re excited for your leadership in advancing this mission.
Attending a RISE graduation is one of the best ways to see our mission in action. The next will be on July 24, so sign up to witness this amazing moment here: https://forms.office.com/r/nDFt1xVfmf
OR, if you are interested in joining the next RISE cohort, applications are open now until June 17th at 3pm. Apply here today: https://tfaforms.com/5151579

GiveBIG is tomorrow—but the impact starts with you. It’s not about a single day, it is what happens because of it.
At Uplift Northwest, every donation helps someone take a real step forward— employment, housing, and rebuilding a life with dignity and purpose. These aren’t abstract outcomes; they are turning points for neighbors in our community.
GiveBIG is your chance to be part of that momentum.
If you believe everyone deserves a pathway to opportunity, we invite you to give today! And if you support multiple causes, you’re helping strengthen the entire network of care that makes our community stronger for all.
Your gift matters, and it starts right now.
👉 A generous supporter is matching all donations made through GiveBIG up to a total of $10,000, double your impact today! https://www.wagives.org/organization/upliftnw
Thank you for showing up in a way that truly changes lives💚
