Breast cancer accounts for 1 in 3 cancer diagnoses among women worldwide. This means that, for many, a mammogram isn’t just peace of mind, it’s lifesaving. At Seattle/King County Clinic, we’re deeply grateful to Fred Hutch, a world-renowned cancer center, for bringing their mobile mammography van to provide hundreds of free screenings to our patients in need.
Thank you to the incredible staff who make this possible, from the teams who care for patients onsite, the radiologists who thoughtfully read results, and the administrative staff who seamlessly manage the logistics behind the scenes. Because of you, those in our community who don’t always have access to healthcare can get critical answers about their health when it matters most.

Seattle/King County Clinic may have ended in April, but for many patients, the journey wasn't complete until this past weekend.
On May 30-31, patients returned to pick up 424 pairs of prescription eyeglasses ordered during the Clinic. Patients were also able to meet with opticians to ensure their glasses fit comfortably and receive any needed adjustments before heading home.
Some of the most rewarding moments were seeing patients put on their new glasses, admire their frames, and experience the difference clear vision can make in everyday life.
While most eyeglasses were picked up in person, our work wasn't quite finished. On June 1, our team of volunteers and staff mailed the remaining glasses to patients who were unable to attend, helping ensure they receive this important part of their care.
Thank you to the volunteers, eye care professionals, and supporters who helped make this event possible and fulfill another step in the patient care journey. 💙

With proposed double-digit health insurance increases for the third year in a row, a record number of Washingtonians will struggle to stay covered this year. But this isn't just an insurance crisis: when affordability shifts for some, access is affected for everyone.
As Christine Lindquist, Executive Director of the Washington Healthcare Access Alliance explains, "Many Washington free clinics have already reported a higher volume of new patients to date than for all of last year. These increased rates will push even more patients into the overburdened, under supported healthcare safety net."

A few weeks ago, we underwent our lab results review and mailing process: two days of teamwork in action. Our medical directors and primary care leads spent hours reviewing over 2,000 lab tests, and volunteers stepped in the next day to help get these results out to nearly 600 patients.
For those patients, these aren’t just numbers on a page, they’re answers, clarity, and often the first step toward getting the care they need.
Huge thanks to our lab partner, Quest Diagnostics, for powering this work and providing ongoing support behind the scenes.
