Summer weather is coming next weekend just in time for school getting out! Kubota Garden’s June lineup of FREE events for youth continues with Stories & Art at 10AM on Saturday, June 13 where we’ll read "What Do You See When You Look at a Tree?" followed by a painting activity.
On Saturday, June 20 we have the popular Soapstone Carving workshops for youth ages 7 - 17. This is a unique opportunity for kids to learn about stone and to carve their own soapstone animal figurine. Two sessions available at 10AM & 1PM. Sign-up is required as space is limited.

It's May and it's time to celebrate the striking and wide-ranging beauty of iris at Kubota Garden. Drop-in at the Terrace Overlook on Saturday from 10AM-4PM to see dozens of iris on exhibit, learn about planting and caring for iris, and get a map of the iris beds at Kubota Garden! Some iris will also be available for purchase!
The Iris Exhibit is free! Reservations not required. Thanks to our partners Cascadia Iris Gardens and King County Iris Society.

Stories and Art returns to Kubota Garden on Saturday, May 9th at 10am! Join us for Japanese folktales told by local storyteller, Tobey Ishii-Anderson followed by a hands-on chigiri-e (torn paper picture) art project led by artist Leah Okamoto Mann, inspired by the stories.

The line is forming….T-minus 10 minutes until the Spring Plant Sale is open! Lots of plants and trees, select houseplants, nearly 60 volunteers, and even Haru Sweets & Treats (Spring Bake Sale)! Come down and shop….we’re open until 1PM (no guarantees how long the bakery will be open)!

Countdown to the 2026 Spring Plant Sale…we are excited about this year’s trees, plants, and the forecast (close to 70°)! We have a great selection of dwarf conifers, flowering perennials, evergreen and flowering shrubs, and more. Plus we have experts on site to help you find the right plant for your garden, carry out and will call volunteers to enhance your shopping experience.
The Sale opens at 9AM this Saturday at the Kubota Garden Nursery.
