Protective Measures:
• Drink water consistently throughout the day
• Limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours

🏆Community Champion Award Nominee Spotlight: Christina Yiatchos
Christina is one of our incredible Community Champion Award nominees! They have made a lasting impact in our community and were nominated by one of their peers for this year's award.

💭 "Christina is an important resource for the Shoreline community. She provides free therapy for teens at the Shoreline Teen Center and has had a positive impact on many young people. With her support, teens have found stable housing, connected with long-term therapists, and accessed food through the food bank she helps run.

She helps teens get the support they need and connects them to resources that improve their situations. Her work has made a real difference in the teen community."
— Comment submitted with nomination

We are so grateful for individuals like Christina who help make Shoreline a community where young people have access to the support, resources, and connections they need to thrive.

Help us celebrate Christina and all of our nominees at the upcoming 2026 Community Champion Awards on Friday, August 14, 2026, at Shoreline City Hall!

Summer is the season for making memories—long evenings, road trips, backyard gatherings, and time with the people we love. But for thousands of patients in local hospitals, summer also brings a critical need for blood. Every two seconds, someone needs a blood transfusion. Yet during the summer months, donations decline as vacations, busy schedules, and heat waves keep many donors away, even as trauma cases and emergency needs often increase. That’s why your summer blood donation means so much right now. In less than an hour, you can help ensure trauma, cancer, and surgery patients receive lifesaving transfusions across our region.

Don’t wait—roll up your sleeve and schedule today. Be the reason someone gets to enjoy another summer with the people they love.

Join us tomorrow, June 19, right here at City Hall, for our annual Juneteenth Celebration!

The Juneteenth Celebration is produced in partnership with Black Coffee Northwest (BCNW), a community-based organization focused on economic empowerment and community building.

2026 marks the City of Shoreline’s hosting of the 4th annual Juneteenth celebration, and we are honored to hold it at City Hall. Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and provides an opportunity to reflect on history, celebrate Black culture, and recognize ongoing contributions to the community. The event centers community, culture, and Black-owned businesses, and includes a small business marketplace, performances, and community activities.

📖✨ The Power of Storytelling This Juneteenth ✨📖

As we celebrate Juneteenth, we are reminded that our stories are more than memories@they are living history. They carry the wisdom, resilience, courage, and triumphs of those who came before us. Storytelling is how we preserve our culture, honor our ancestors, and ensure future generations understand the journey toward freedom and justice.

We are incredibly excited for this beautiful conversation with our beloved community elder, Annie Thomas. Her experiences, reflections, and wisdom remind us that history is not just found in books, it lives within the voices of our elders.

This Juneteenth, let us take time to listen. Let us sit with the stories that have shaped our communities, our families, and our future. Every story shared is an act of preservation. Every story heard is an opportunity for growth, understanding, and connection.

Our elders are living libraries. Their stories are gifts. ❤️🖤💚

Join us as we honor the legacy, wisdom, and lived experiences that continue to light the way forward.
