Everybody say congrats to Jasmine!!! As of this week, our illustrious intern Jasmine (also lovingly known as Yasmeena) has graduated with her Masters in Social Work 🎓 We are so proud of her and beyond grateful for all of the deep care and support she’s given to AAoC during her time as our social work student intern. While Jasmine’s time as our intern is coming to a close, we have no doubt that she’s off to continue transforming the world around her for the better, AND off to some well deserved fun and rest. We’re excited to see what you’re up to next, Yasmeeni 💕

We are so excited to announce this year’s winners of our Legacy Awards! These folks were nominated by people in our communities who really admire the work that they are doing for QTBIPOC in this region.

Ammara Touch (.yarrow) was awarded the Lucia Leandro Gimeno Disability Justice Leader Legacy Award for their support of disabled community through their work and writing, creating and sharing plant medicine, connecting people to COVID tests and organizing safe and inclusive events that honor disabled lived experiences and QTBIPOC grief.

Meilani Mandery (.auntie) won the Constance Blakely Emerging Leader Legacy Award because of her inspiring and intersectional organizing in Chinatown-International District, for her ability to host events that both support community and educate them on the issues impacting them, and for her commitment to supporting BIPOC/QTBIPOC youth.

And last but certainly not least, Jourdan Imani Keith () was awarded the Vickie WIlliams Elder Leader Legacy Award for her commitment to sharing and celebrating Black and Q***r stories, for her environmental advocacy, for her fight to re-connect our communities to nature, and for the critical representation she offers to Black Q***r artists and advocates who get to be in her orbit.

Please join us in congratulating them and thanking them for their incredible work!
