Fire academies are where future first responders build the skills, teamwork, and confidence needed to operate safely in high-risk environments.
Airlift Northwest is proud to support and participate in fire academy training across our region. These partnerships strengthen coordination, improve patient care, and reinforce safe, effective response from scene to definitive care.
We’re honored to be a part of the training for the next generation of firefighters. Congratulations to all of the graduates!

ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) is an advanced form of life support that temporarily takes over the work of the heart and lungs for critically ill patients. Our annual ECMO simulation training gives crews the opportunity to practice managing these complex transports in a controlled environment. Our partners at UWMC join us in these scenarios, strengthening collaboration, communication, and coordinated care across teams.

Pointing a laser at an aircraft is not a prank — it’s dangerous and a federal crime. Laser strikes can temporarily blind or distract pilots during critical phases of flight, putting flight crews, patients, and communities at risk.
Intentionally aiming a laser at an aircraft can result in felony charges, fines of up to $250,000, and imprisonment.
Our crews operate day and night to bring critical care to patients across the region. Help keep the skies safe by never aiming lasers at aircraft and reporting laser incidents when you see them.

After a transport to Portland, the AL2 and Seattle Children's CCT teams got a special moment with Casey, the OHSU Facility Dog. It’s always a boost to meet the four-legged members of the healthcare team who bring comfort to patients and staff alike.

Faces Behind the Flight
Lisa Davidson, DNP, flies out of our Juneau base (AL40 & AL 41). She has been in healthcare for 38 years and a flight nurse for 17 years.
"The people of ALNW—every single one of them—are what inspire me. The trust of our physician partners, and the knowledge, dedication, and clinical excellence of my flight partners, push me to be better every day.
Most importantly, I’m honored to spend focused, one-on-one time with a patient during what may be the hardest, sometimes life-altering day of their life. In the often harsh world of medicine, that time—shared between patient and provider—is truly a gift."
