Sometimes the most meaningful relationships begin right around the corner.
Earlier this year, four cousins (the cousin crew) joined Seattle Angels as Love Box® volunteers and were matched with a family in their neighborhood.
What started with meals, playtime, and practical support has grown into something greater.
After six months of building trust and connection, they’re ready to take the next step in supporting this family.
We’ll be sharing the full story in tomorrow’s email newsletter (including a moment that left our team smiling).

Snohomish County families experiencing foster care are waiting for support.
Right now, Seattle Angels is seeking volunteers for 4 families in Everett, Lake Stevens, Snohomish, and Mill Creek to join our Love Box® program and walk alongside local families with practical support, encouragement, and connection.
You don’t need special experience. You don’t need to have all the answers.
You just need a willingness to show up 1 time a month for 1 year.
Whether it’s sharing a meal, helping with a family activity, or being part of a consistent support team, small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference.
If you’ve been looking for a way to give back in your community, this could be it.
Learn more and apply at seattleangels.org/volunteer.

This Pride Month, we’re celebrating the power of belonging.
Through our Dare to Dream mentoring program, young people experiencing foster care are matched with consistent, caring adults who walk alongside them through life’s challenges and milestones.
For one teen, being matched with a mentor who also identifies as part of the LGBTQ+ community meant having someone who understood, encouraged, and showed up when it mattered most. From attending appointments and school events together to navigating a season of family crisis, their relationship became a source of support, stability, and connection.
Every young person deserves to know they are seen, valued, affirmed, and never alone.
At Seattle Angels, it is our privilege to support youth experiencing foster care through relationships that foster belonging, hope, and resilience.
🌈 Happy Pride Month
Kids helping kids. This is where it starts. 💛
It started with parents who chose to involve their kids early, teaching them that showing up for others is just part of who we are.
Now, these three are doing chores, saving their money, and choosing month after month to give to the Angel Alliance.
And in the process, they are learning something bigger than generosity.
That their actions matter.
That consistency builds trust.
That even at a young age, they can help change someone else’s story.
Because when you learn to show up early, it becomes part of who you are.
If kids can do this, imagine what is possible for all of us.
Caring for children and families experiencing foster care is not someone else’s responsibility. It belongs to all of us.
This is how change happens. Together.
Whether it’s $10 a month, $25 a month, or $100 a month, consistent support helps ensure children, youth, and caregivers have a community walking alongside them month after month.
What could your monthly yes look like?

Instability is one of the greatest hurdles in foster care. Did you know that over 50% of foster homes close within the first year? This often means constant moves. New schools, new rules, and new faces. When a child moves homes, they lose more than a roof; they lose their sense of security.
In a world of constant change, the most powerful thing you can offer is consistency. You do not need to be a hero. You do not need to have all the answers.
You just need to be the person who stays. Month after month. Conversation after conversation.
Consistency builds trust. Trust builds stability. Stability changes everything.
You don’t have to have it all figured out—just be willing to say yes. There’s no one right way. Only yours. What’s your yes? Volunteer. Mentor. Give. Partner.

One evening.
So many moments of belonging. 💛
Because of this community, Evening of Impact raised more than $146,000 to support children, youth, and families experiencing foster care across Seattle.
From the conversations around the tables, to the laughter during Dessert Dash, to every bid, donation, sponsorship, and volunteer hour… this night was built by people who chose to show up for others.
And what happens in one evening doesn’t stay in one evening.
It becomes welcome gifts delivered to families.
Mentors showing up consistently for youth.
Caregivers receiving support instead of navigating hard seasons alone.
Children and families reminded they are not doing this by themselves.
Thank you for being part of a community creating belonging. ✨
