In observance of this celebration, our administrative offices are closed today and will reopen at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, June 22, 2026.

While Spring may still see a little more rain as Tropical Storm Arthur moves towards landfall, heat will be the next big weather issue.
There will be a Heat Advisory in place from 11 a.m. Thursday through Friday evening.
Heat indices will make it feel like it’s between 107-112 degrees.
Take precautions. Stay hydrated. Wear light clothing. Limit time outside. Stay inside where it’s air-conditioned.

🌀 Tropical Storm Arthur makes landfall near Matagorda Bay, becoming the first U.S. tropical cyclone landfall of the season.
Gusty winds, minor coastal flooding and rough surf remain possible along the coast through this evening.

Tropical Storm Arthur's sustained winds have increased to 45 miles per hour and the Tropical Storm Warning area now stretches from Sargent to Morgan City, Louisiana.

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect from High Island to Morgan City, Louisiana as Tropical Storm Arthur forms in the Gulf. A Tropical Storm Watch is in effect from Sargent to High Island.
Life threatening flooding is expected. Packing 40 mile per hour winds, TS Arthur is 40 miles east-northeast of Port O'Connor. Arthur is moving northeast at 9 miles per hour with a minimum central pressure of 1001 MB. Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 175 miles.
On the current forecast track, TS Arthur should move northeastward along the Texas coast today and then move inland over southwestern Louisiana by tonight.
Little change in strength is expected before the center moves over land and weakens. Arthur is expected to dissipate tonight or early Thursday.

A Tropical Storm Warning is now in effect for Sabine Pass to Morgan City, Louisiana. A Tropical Storm Watch remains in effect from Sargent to Sabine Pass. A Tropical Storm Warning means that tropical storm conditions are expected within the warning area, in this case within 24 hours.
Meanwhile, dangerous flash flooding continues over portions of Texas.
Potential Tropical Cyclone One has 30 mile per hour sustained winds and is 35 miles south-southwest of Corpus Christi expected to head up the Texas coast at 6 miles per hour. With a minimum central pressure of 1005 MB, this disturbance has a 70% change to strengthen and could become a tropical storm early on Wednesday producing rainfall totals of 5 to 10 inches, with isolated higher totals near 20 inches through Thursday. This could generate dangerous to life-threatening flash flooding.

A Tropical Storm Watch is in place from Sargent, Texas to Morgan City, Louisiana.
What has a 60% chance of becoming 2026’s first Tropical Depression or Tropical Storm Arthur is moving northeast at 6 miles per hour and has a minimum central pressure of 1007 MB.
Very heavy rainfall and dangerous flash flooding is expected.
At 10 a.m. Tuesday, potential Tropical Cyclone One is roughly 65 miles southwest of Corpus Christi with maximum sustained winds of 30 miles per hour.
Tropical conditions are possible within the watch area within 24 to 36 hours.
An increase in forward speed is likely over the next couple of days as this move roughly parallel to the upper Texas coast later tomorrow before moving back inland in far eastern Texas or southwestern Louisiana late Wednesday or early Thursday.
