As Albany Democrats continued their power grab in Albany last week, they introduced another constitutional amendment that would make all local and judicial elections in New York (excluding ) to be held only in even numbered years.
If it passes, the Governor would appoint an interim office holder for each of these positions between the end of the term and the next even year election.
On debate, the sponsor admitted that the Governor would be able to appoint political allies to these positions who wouldnβt necessarily be the officials chosen by the people themselves to serve in these positions.

Albany Democrats introduced a constitutional amendment to begin the process of redrawing New York Stateβs congressional maps. The amendment would give Albany Democrats more power in the process and weaken the Independent Redistricting Commission. This is nothing more than a power grab by Albany Democrats in an attempt to redraw seats that would heavily favor Democrats over Republicans irrespective of the votersβ will.
Time and time again, Albany Democrats have attempted this type of power move and it has been consistently rejected by the voters. The voters should choose their elected officials. The elected officials should not be choosing their voters.

They told us politicians shouldn't draw district lines. Voters agreed in 2014 when they approved an Independent Redistricting Commission. And when Albany politicians tried to weaken that process in 2021, voters rejected it.
Now Albany Democrats want to change the rules again because they don't like the outcome. That's not democracy. That's manipulation.
Politicians shouldn't keep redrawing maps until they get the result they want. Voters should choose their politiciansβnot the other way around.
I'll keep fighting to protect Staten Island's voice and defend the fair, independent process New Yorkers voted for.

This yearβs budget in was full of tax increases and fees. The Governor and legislature did not put money back into peopleβs pockets. And even with all the taxes and fees, the in the Assembly actually said that the budget didnβt tax people enough. They love to villainize success and despise the dream.

Mayor Mamdani says bad landlords should lose their buildings and tenants should take them over. They call it βhousing justice.β Who decides which landlords are bad? This is the same government that canβt fix housing, canβt control spending, and canβt keep New Yorkers from leaving. Once government gets to decide who keeps their property, no oneβs property is safe.
