Today, we honor and remember Hal Long as family, friends, fellow Lions, and community members gather to celebrate his remarkable life and legacy of 99 years.
Halβs commitment to serving others spanned decades. A member of the Garber Lions Club since 1951, he served a two-year term as a Director of The International Association of Lions Clubs and held numerous leadership positions, including club president, zone chairman, and district governor.
As president of the Oklahoma Lions Boys Ranch from 1970-1971, the organization that today serves as Lions Meadows of Hope, Hal helped shape a legacy of hope and healing for children experiencing foster care. His impact at Lions Meadows of Hope was immeasurable.
One of the most visible reminders of Halβs heart for children is The Hal & Jean Long Home on our Foster Care Campus in Perkins. Within those walls, countless children and families have found safety, healing, hope, and the opportunity to build a brighter future.
We are profoundly grateful for Halβs leadership, generosity, and unwavering commitment to serving others. His legacy lives on through every child and family impacted by his kindness and care.
Today, we celebrate a life of service, compassion, and faith. Thank you, Hal, for leaving this world better than you found it. Your influence will continue to be felt for generations to come. π

ππ What an AMAZING day! ππ
Last Saturday, Lions Meadows of Hope was honored to partner with CREOKS Behavioral Health Services and our Family & Board Engagement Committee to host a Family Fun Day at the Family Center on our campus in Perkins!
From the smiles and laughter of children to meaningful conversations and connections among families, it was a day filled with joy, encouragement, and community. π₯°
Families enjoyed:
π A petting zoo
π Delicious, famous "dirty curtys"
π° Inflatables
π¨ Arts & crafts
π Fun giveaways
π Games and activities for all ages
Most importantly, foster families had the opportunity to connect, build relationships, and create lasting memories together. β€οΈ
A special thank you to our partners at CREOKS for helping provide resources and support that strengthen the mental health and well-being of the families we serve. We are grateful for partnerships that help children and families thrive. π€π
Events like these remind us that foster care is not meant to be done alone. When a community comes together, families are strengthened, children are encouraged, and hope grows. π
Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, and helped make this day so special!

Today, we hosted the Payne County 111Project Community Gathering! It was a powerful reminder that meaningful change happens when churches, agencies, and community members come together around a shared mission: supporting children and families experiencing foster care in our community.
These gatherings create space to hear what is happening at a local level, collaborate on resources, share both victories and challenges, and identify practical ways we can step in to support vulnerable children and families through CarePortal and beyond.
We are grateful for every leader, advocate, church partner, and community member who showed up today to listen, learn, collaborate, and care so deeply for families in .
A special thank you to Chick-fil-A Stillwater for generously donating lunch for todayβs gathering. Your support and investment in our community is deeply appreciated!
You donβt have to say βyesβ to foster care to say βyesβ to a foster child and family and today was a beautiful example of that in action.

What an incredible gift of love in action. π
A huge THANK YOU to Life.Church Stillwater and every volunteer who gave their time on church serve day at our LMOH Family Center by preparing frozen meals for foster families. Their kindness, generosity, and willingness to step in and help carry the load for families caring for children experiencing foster care means more than words can express.
These meals are more than food, they are comfort, encouragement, and a reminder to our foster families that they are seen, supported, and not alone.
We often say, βYou donβt have to say YES to foster care to say YES to a foster child,β and this is exactly what that looks like. Thank you for reflecting the heart of compassion so beautifully. We are deeply grateful. π
