These services are provided by licensed or license-eligible mental health professionals or by Masters or Ph.D. Drug & Alcohol Counseling - PCYS is certified through the Oklahoma Department of Mental health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) to provide drug and alcohol counseling for adolescents (11-17) who struggle with drug and/or alcohol abuse or dependence. Outcomes cannot be guaranteed but may include a reduction in symptoms or problematic behaviors experienced by the person served at the time seeking services. Parenting Life Skills Group - A psycho-educational group for parents of adolescents (10-17). This class offers a unique perspective on parenting, which is designed to educate, encourage, and empower parents who are feeling overwhelmed and stuck in this difficult role of parenthood. Groups are scheduled as referrals are received and run for 4 weeks. Services are provided at the out-patient/administrative offices or off-site as available. Skills for Success - A life skills enhancement program focused on increasing the knowledge and utilization of skills to prevent youth from engaging in future risky or illegal behaviors. The program is a 14-hour curriculum and meets for 2 hours over the course of 7 weeks. Skills for Success is unique in that is is designed for both the youth and their parent(s) to be in attendance. Together, they will learn and discuss various components of individual and relational functionality, which include but are not limited to: communication, anger management, problem solving, value awareness, decision making, and impulse control. Safe Place - A national program that provides a network of locations where young people in crisis or at-risk can get help quickly. Safe Place sites, located throughout Payne County, are designated by a distinctive yellow and black diamond sign and are staffed by trained volunteers who will assist the young person in accessing immediate crisis services and sheltering. Emergency Youth Shelter - A safe, comfortable and protective environment provided for youth who are unable to remain in their home because of family crisis, abuse, neglect, or other challenges. All essential needs for the youth are provided while they are in residence at the Shelter. Residents participate in counseling, other PCYS programs, and the shelter recreation program, as appropriate, and are served, in most instances, by their home school or Stillwater Public Schools. Youth are placed at the Shelter by court or agency referral, or by accessing Safe Place. In certain specific circumstances, a parent may request placement at the Shelter ONLY as a part of a broader intervention plan. All placements are subject to approval of the Shelter Director and agency Executive Director. Crisis Intervention Services - These services are designed to meet a short-term, crisis-oriented need of youth age 11-17. Crisis services include face-to-face services of an emergency nature to resolve acute emotional dysfunction by providing intervention including triage screening, planning and documentation, and follow-up as appropriate. This services is available 24/7/365 by phone at 405-377-3380 or toll free 866-377-3380 or at our out-patient/administrative office during regular business hours. If the crisis is outside the scope of agency programs, referrals will be provided. Information & Referral Services - Person seeking services outside the scope, population served or programming of the agency shall receive information and referral to best meet the individualized needs of the person served. Transitional Living Program - Serving youth (18-22) who are experiencing homelessness or who are at risk of homelessness. This program offers housing and financial support, life skills, educational support, and more dependent on the needs of the individual. Safe Sitter - A babysitter training program for 6th - 8th graders. This is a 6-8 hour course (depending on class size), during which participants learn safety skills, first aid and rescue skills, and life and business skills to help them with their babysitting endeavors. Safe @ Home - Independence class for 4rth - 6th graders who are learning how to stay safe while staying home alone. Participants will learn to practice safe habits and what to do if an emergency arises while they're home alone. Building a Competent Community for Suicide Prevention - One-hour presentation offered to any group in Payne County that wants to learn how to offer hope to someone who may be considering ending their life. Learn the scope of the problem, how to recognize when someone may in crisis, and the tools to intervene and safe a life. All services provided by PCYS are offered free of charge.
