Thank you to everyone who joined us for our first public meeting for Naturally Connected Onondaga: Countywide Greenways + Blueways Plan!
We were thrilled by the turnout and the thoughtful conversations we had throughout the evening. Instead of a traditional presentation, the meeting was designed as an interactive open house, giving community members the opportunity to explore different topics, visit activity stations, and share their ideas directly with our project team.
From parks and trails to waterways and future connections, attendees provided valuable insight that will help shape the vision for a more connected Onondaga County.
Couldn’t make it? You can still participate! Our online crowdsourcing map is now live. Help us identify parks, trails, waterways, scenic destinations, and other outdoor recreation assets that should be included in our inventory.

Another successful Planning Symposium in the books! 🎉 Yesterday marked the Onondaga County Planning Federation 37th Annual Planning Symposium. Our team joined many local leaders and community members to participate in trainings where we heard from over 20 different presenters as well as this year’s keynote speaker, President and CEO of Saratoga Economic Development Corporation J. Gregory Connors.
As we prepare for the unprecedented growth in our community, training and education play an important role in coordinating and collaborating with our local partners to create successful plans for our community. Thank you to our Onondaga County Team and partners for putting together such a great event! 👏

🚜 Did you know? New York State’s Agricultural Districts help protect our most productive farmland by keeping it viable, vibrant, and growing. These districts provide key incentives and protections that help prevent farmland from being converted to non-ag uses.
🍎 Good news for landowners: You can now request to add or remove properties from Ag District 1!
