🎓 Congratulations to SHA resident Tyquanne Harris on being named the First Runner-Up recipient of the 2026 NYSPHADA Scholarship! 👏

A graduating senior at ITC, Tyquanne has maintained an impressive 89 GPA while balancing academics, athletics, and community involvement. Throughout high school, he excelled in varsity football, basketball, and track, demonstrating discipline, leadership, and teamwork both on and off the field.

As a lifelong Syracuse Housing Authority resident, dedicated participant in the SHA $10K Basketball Tournament, and Youth Navigator with Blueprint 15, Tyquanne has consistently represented his community with pride, determination, and a commitment to uplifting others.

This fall, Tyquanne will attend Lincoln University, where he plans to study Finance while continuing his athletic career as a member of the university’s football program.

We are incredibly proud of Tyquanne and this well-deserved recognition. Please join us in congratulating him on this achievement and wishing him continued success as he pursues his goals and inspires future generations of SHA residents. 🎉🏆📚

From winning the 13–15 Boys Division Championship with Team Poise in 2025 to competing at the varsity level for Central Square High School, Jace continues to put in the work both on and off the court.

His advice to the next generation of players:
💬 “Focus on every small detail and trust the work that you put in.”

Success doesn’t happen overnight it’s built through consistency, discipline, and dedication. We’re proud to highlight Jace’s journey and can’t wait to see what’s next.

When a resident with mobility challenges was walking groceries back to Freedom Commons, Maintenance Crew Leader, Dexter Green stepped in without hesitation to help carry them home despite not being assigned to the property.

Later, Dexter went a step further by restoring a power chair from a vacated unit and providing it to the resident, giving them greater independence and mobility. The resident shared that this simple act meant they could finally visit their mother again.

Dexter consistently goes above and beyond, demonstrating through his actions a genuine commitment to helping others and serving residents.

Thank you, Dexter Green, for your compassion and for making a difference in the lives of our residents every day. 💙🏠

Last Saturday at Pioneer Homes Coffee House, in collaboration with Abundant Life Church, over 150 families received groceries, food, and support following the tragic events that impacted our community on May 9.

Through door-to-door outreach and distribution at the Coffee House, families not only received essential resources but also had the opportunity to connect with caring staff, volunteers, and additional community support services.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this possible. Together, we continue to build stronger communities through compassion, service, and support. 🏠💙
