Walking or riding this summer? πŸšΆβ€β™‚οΈπŸš²

There is a RIGHT way and a WRONG way to share the road β€” and knowing which direction to face can save your life.

Choices.

We all make them, hundreds of times a day. But some carry more weight than others.

Slow down. Put the phone down.

Two simple choices.

The difference between getting where you’re going, or changing your life, and someone else’s, forever.

As we recognize Juneteenth and celebrate freedom, community, and progress, OCTSAB encourages everyone to make safety part of the holiday.

Whether you’re attending a family gathering, community event, parade, or traveling across Central New York:

πŸš— Drive sober
πŸ“΅ Put the phone away
🚢 Watch for pedestrians and cyclists
πŸͺ‘ Buckle every passenger, every trip
⚠️ Slow down and stay alert

Let’s honor the day by protecting one another and ensuring everyone arrives home safely.

From all of us at the Onondaga County Traffic Safety Advisory Board, we wish you a safe and meaningful Juneteenth.

One Day.
Three Events.
One Mission: A Safer Onondaga County.

A busy Tuesday for OCTSAB as we connected with community members of all ages through three events across our county.

βœ… Partnered with Family & Children’s Services and Upstate at the Onondaga County Emergency Management Operations Center

βœ… Hosted a successful CarFit event at the Manlius Library, helping older drivers improve the fit and safety of their vehicles

βœ… Joined community partners at ITC High School for the SCSD Office of Family Engagement Community Resource Fair, connecting families with resources to help them thrive all summer long

From older drivers to young families, traffic safety touches everyone. We’re grateful for the partnerships that help us reach our community where they live, learn, work, and play.

And yes… we even made a new surprise friend along the way! Take a look!🦎

One day. Three events. A safer Onondaga County.
