This weekend, we had the pleasure of attending an event longtime supporters of LSF may be familiar with, the Good Samaritan Banquet.
The Good Samaritan is also a biblical story that teaches a simple but powerful lesson: when someone is hurting, it is our responsibility to help.
We gathered at Christ the King Lutheran Church alongside congregations, neighbors and friends to honor the Good Samaritans in our communities. Thank you to everyone who joined us, especially our Good Samaritan nominees, who exemplify service, compassion and humility.
A special thank you to Thrivent for sponsoring the event and helping make the celebration possible.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads and father figures who show up. Thank you for the difference you make in the lives of children and families every day.
Today, as we celebrate fathers everywhere, we're proud to shine a light on Michael Poole. Michael is a dedicated father whose three children attend LSF Pinellas Head Start. Having grown up without his own father, Michael was determined to create a different future for his children and become the steady presence they could always count on.
"I want my kids to see Dad's always active, Dad's always here, I don't have to worry," Michael said.
That's what fatherhood is all about. You can read Michael's full story here: https://www.lsfnet.org/a-head-start-father-building-a-different-future/

"When you're making all of these fixes while you're on fire, there are no shortcuts," said Jennifer Patterson, Lake and Sumter CMO program director.
When LSF assumed responsibility for child welfare case management services in Lake and Sumter counties, the program faced significant challenges.
Through a commitment to workforce development, accountability and a culture of excellence, LSF transformed one of the circuit's lowest-performing case management organizations into one of its highest-performing.

We're grateful to the Kiwanis of St Pete for supporting our Pinellas Head Start program with a generous $1,000 grant.
This funding will provide much-needed classroom supplies, sensory tools, and storage cubbies that help create engaging, organized, and supportive learning spaces for our children.
Every investment in our classrooms is an investment in a child's future. Thank you for helping us provide exceptional early education and care to the children and families we serve.

Before he was an educator, advocate and vice chair of the LSF Board of Directors, Alonzo L Batson Jr was a 6-year-old boy setting up folding chairs beneath a Lutheran church tent.
That same sense of service, faith and determination would guide him through the Civil Rights Movement, a lifelong career in education and decades of advocacy on behalf of young people.
Today, his commitment to lifting others up and expanding educational opportunities continues through his service to LSF.

Rain couldn't dampen the spirit of Bridging Hope, as supporters gathered in Miami for an evening dedicated to the youth served by LSF Miami Bridge Youth Shelter and the people like you who continue believing in them.
Hosted at The Americas Collection Art Gallery, the event featured inspiring stories from current and former Miami Bridge residents alongside artwork created by youth staying at the shelter.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, especially our Miami Bridge Ambassador Board, LSF Board Chair Lorenzo Cobiella, and Daniella, a former Lippman and Miami Bridge resident, whose powerful story reminded us all of the impact a supportive community can make.

Congratulations to our May Case Managers of the Month! We're excited to honor Denise, Todd and Darien for going above and beyond the call of duty. These three build and sustain relationships that aid both the families they serve and their coworkers.
We love getting to celebrate the excellent case managers across our organization. Thank you, Tampa Electric, for sponsoring this initiative and shining a light on case management.

We believe investing in people is one of the best ways we can strengthen our mission.
Recently, leaders from LSF Family Focus and members of our support services team attended The Sterling Council Leadership Conference in Orlando, joining professionals from across industries to explore leadership, organizational excellence and strategies for creating lasting impact.
