Cost of living continues to skyrocket, and now over 50% of Americans have used credit card debt to pay for necessities like food and utilities (just a few years ago, it was 25%).
Using credit just to survive makes it difficult to secure housing, reliable transportation, and other things that contribute to a better life. Our educational programs are designed to help families break this vicious cycle.
Check out our Events to sign up for the next personal finance workshop, coming up on June 16!

During the height of the COVID-19 crisis, Ms. Rollins needed help. Her search led to Positive Spin.
When she entered our program, Ms. Rollins had just been laid off and was couch surfing, along with her two daughters. Her goal was a home for her family, and step one was finding employment. Our case manager sent job listings to Ms. Rollins as she attended virtual job fairs. Soon, she was hired as an assistant manager at a clothing store. Job: ✅
We referred her to the state's SHIP (State Housing Initiative Partnership) program, and she attended their virtual classes. Our internal Housing Specialist provided leads for affordable housing. Ms. Rollins was determined to become independent and self-sufficient. She followed up on *every* referral and opportunity we sent her until she was approved for an apartment.
Along the way, she diligently saved money. When it was time to move in, she was able to cover her deposit and her pro-rated rent. We helped her purchase a bed, and Lighthouse Ministries pitched in with other household necessities. Home: ✅
Today, Ms. Rollins and her daughters have a place of their own. She has a stable job and her kids are thriving. We are so proud of the mighty spirit shown by this remarkable woman! She seized every opportunity until she reached her goals. Amazing! 😊
