Happy Juneteenth, Bronxites! Today, we celebrate freedom and resilience as we commemorate June 19, 1865, when the news of the Emancipation Proclamation finally reached enslaved persons in Galveston, Texas. Juneteenth marks a powerful milestone of hope and liberation. Let's honor and celebrate this day in American history, as we continue to learn from the past and work together for a more inclusive future.
