Award from the Georgia Association of Housing and Redevelopment Authority for outstanding leadership and performance, recognized at the Youth Leadership Conference at Villas by the Sea in Jekyll Island, Georgia. Thomaston Housing Authority Youth bring home the 2026 Youth Leadership Conference G.O.A.T. Award ! 😀

I give my heartfelt congratulations to all the young attendees and participants of the 2026 GAHRA Youth Leadership Conference, which showcased exceptional speakers and a remarkably uplifting atmosphere. I am particularly proud of our THA Youth Advisory Council members, Harmonee, Larissa, Deshaun and Jay, who demonstrated exemplary representation of THA.

Gratitude is expressed to Xavier Harris of the X-Factor and all participating partners for investing their afternoon with the children of the Thomaston Housing Authority, enabling them to have a challenging experience in developing stamina and discipline. approximately 75 children participated in the event.

Look who I found at the Little Library. It's wonderful to see children utilizing their local community libraries. We will be reloading the libraries all summer, guaranteeing families access to books for all ages. There will be books available for every member of the family. Discover places that you couldn’t imagine through reading. Also, you can certainly share a book. When you have read a great book you can share it with others by putting it in Little Library in you community. Let’s have fun this summer. Let’s Explore through Reading.

The Georgia Tech - Center for Economic Development Research - CEDR team will be on-hand prior to the May 5th City Council Meeting to share findings from the Comprehensive Housing Assessment that they have completed for the city. Please join us at the Thomaston-Upson Senior Center at 6pm on Tuesday May 5th to learn more!
