Here’s the Thing: Some people make a difference that lasts.

Today we remember Officer Derrick Alexander and the impact he made on our community through his service, his relationships, and his work with Project Trust.

Our thoughts are with his family, friends, and the Tulsa Police Department.

Today, we join the Tulsa Police Department in mourning the loss of Officer Derrick Alexander, who they say passed away from natural causes early this morning.

Officer Alexander served the Tulsa community for nearly 33 years. At Tulsa Crime Stoppers, we had the privilege of knowing him through our Project Trust program, where he made a lasting impact on countless young people.

For years, Officer Alexander invested in Tulsa’s youth, building relationships, offering guidance, and helping students navigate challenges both in and out of the classroom. His passion for community policing and his heart for helping others were evident in everything he did.

We were incredibly fortunate to work alongside him and witness firsthand the difference he made in our community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Alexander’s family, friends, fellow officers, and everyone whose life he touched.

His service, compassion, and dedication to Tulsa will not be forgotten.
