The YMCA Safety Around Water program is running through our Benjamin Barnes location to help teach children ages 4-14 the necessary tools to be safe around water.
Thanks to a generous donor, we are able to provide this program to campers at no additional cost. To make a difference and help us continue providing these programs, click the link in our bio to give today!

β¨ Staff Spotlight: Marquita "Quita" Lavender β¨
Since joining the YMCA of Tuscaloosa in March, Quita has become a familiar and welcoming face at our Downtown YMCA, serving members in both Child Watch and at the Front Desk.
"I love the Y because of the wonderful children I meet daily and their amazing parents. I also love that the Y is always giving back to the community and hosting events with everyone of every age in mind."
Outside of the Y, Quita is a proud mother of three, a breast cancer and stroke survivor, and is currently pursuing her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education at Shelton State Community College with dreams of becoming a teacher.
Quita's resilience, compassion, and positivity inspire everyone around her, and we are grateful to have her as part of our YMCA family. Thank you, Quita, for all you do! π

What a great week for the YMCA of Tuscaloosa!
We were honored to host the CEO Summit for the Mississippi-Alabama Alliance and welcome YMCA leaders from across both states to our community.
During the summit, we celebrated Charles Trammel's incredible 40 years of service to the Y and welcomed Justin Inskeep as the new CEO of the Alabama-Mississippi Alliance.
Guests got to experience some of the best of Tuscaloosa while connecting, learning, and planning for the future of the YMCA movement. A special thank you to Mayor Walt Maddox and our CEO, Jeff Knox, for helping make the week so memorable.
And of course, thank you to Visit Tuscaloosa for helping us showcase our city and make this event a success!
