Youth Tour is more than a trip. It is about growth, leadership and connections that will last a lifetime. Watching these delegates learn, engage and represent their cooperatives, communities and families is truly inspiring.

Iowa Youth Tour
Youth Tour is a program that brings high school students to Washington, D.C. every June. government. citizens might never get a chance to see or meet in person.
Approximately 30 participants — generally high school students that are currently juniors or seniors will be chosen by local electric cooperatives from across the state of Iowa. They’ll be joined by approximately 1,700 other participants from around the country. Students on the tour learn about electric cooperatives, American history and U.S. They visit with their representatives in the House and

It has been a great week for all the Iowa delegates and they’re all very grateful to their co-ops for sending them on this once in a lifetime trip. They met and spoke with so many different people and the lessons they learned here this week will continue to inspire them for years to come. Thank you delegates for going out of your comfort zone for this trip.

Today was another great experience for all the delegates that was both emotional and exciting. Tomorrow will be our last day in DC and it’s a shame to see the end in sight!

The delegates today had the opportunity to visit the Holocaust Memorial Museum. While there students experienced eye opening and emotional moments that words cannot describe.
