๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿš’ Preparedness through partnership. ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿป

Earlier this month, Ventura Water welcomed the Ventura Fire Department to the Avenue Water Treatment Plant for a joint emergency response training exercise. The hands-on training gave firefighters an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the facility, critical infrastructure, and emergency response procedures.

Working together helps ensure a coordinated response during emergencies and strengthens our ability to continue providing essential services to the community.

Thank you to the Ventura Fire Department for their partnership and commitment to keeping Ventura safe. โœจ

And with that, this yearโ€™s Green Schools Program presentations have come to an end! ๐Ÿ’ง๐ŸŒŽ

A huge thank you to the teachers and school staff who welcomed Ventura Water into their classrooms this school year. It was a pleasure connecting with students throughout our community, and seeing their curiosity and enthusiasm made every presentation incredibly rewarding. โœจ

Our Green Schools Program is designed to help students learn about the importance of water conservation, local water resources, the water cycle, and sustainable practices they can apply in their everyday lives. Through these interactive presentations, we hope to inspire the next generation to become informed environmental stewards and responsible community members.

Over the course of nearly a year of deliberation, the City of Ventura underwent an extensive water and wastewater rate study to evaluate the Cityโ€™s water rate tiers, water shortage rates, wastewater rate structure, and financing options for major projects. City staff and a third-party financial consultant worked with the City's finance team and financial advisors to develop a cost-of-service study and rate model. The process included multiple public meetings and presentations to the Water Commission, and on December 16, 2025, after the Public Hearing for Water and Wastewater Rate Adjustments, Ventura City Council unanimously approved five-year water and wastewater rate increases. โœ…

Ventura Water is dedicated to providing reliable water services, investing in the maintenance and improvement of its vital infrastructure and equipping residents to be drought resilient. Rate increases will support both daily operation and maintenance of the Cityโ€™s existing water and wastewater systems, along with planned capital improvement projects, including the long-anticipated State Water Interconnection Project and VenturaWaterPure Program. ๐Ÿ’ฆ

A rate increase will become effective July 1, 2026, to account for increased costs to operate and maintain the water and wastewater systems. All bills after July 1, 2026, will reflect the new rates; there will be no proration between the old and new rates. To estimate the change to your water bill, utilize the bill calculator on our website.
