Juneteenth Holiday Closure
In observance of Juneteenth, all Ventura Unified schools, district offices, and programs will be closed on Friday, June 19, 2026.
Juneteenth commemorates the exact day, June 19, 1865, when troops arrived in Texas to enforce the Emancipation Proclamation and end slavery. This official federal holiday serves as a time to reflect on freedom, history, and equality.
We wish our students, families, and staff a meaningful holiday and look forward to reopening on Monday, June 22.

VUSD Summer Snapshots ☀️🔨
Last week, middle school students from across Ventura Unified spent the week at Woodshop Camp at Cabrillo Middle School, learning new skills, building projects, and exploring the world of woodworking in a fun, hands-on environment.
From measuring and designing to cutting, sanding, and assembling, students gained valuable experience as they created projects they could be proud of. Opportunities like these help students discover new interests, build confidence, and develop real-world skills.
A big thank you to our dedicated staff and student leaders who helped make this camp such a success. Your time, expertise, and enthusiasm created an unforgettable experience for our students.
We hope everyone had a great week of learning, creating, and making new friends!
