We recently lost my former staffer Asal Sayas after an incredibly brave battle with cancer.
I’m joining with Senator Edward J. Markey & Congressman André Carson — with the support of Asal's family — to introduce legislation named in her memory to tackle the growing rate of cancer in adults under 50.

Great meeting with Minnesota students on the Rural Electric Youth Tour in Washington. They’re visiting DC so they can learn about advocacy and civic engagement up close.
Dreamers were brought here as children and only know the United States as their home.
They serve in our military, work at our schools, serve as police, own businesses, & care for patients as nurses.
We need to pass the Dream Act and give DACA recipients clear legal status.
It’s now been one year without my friend Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark.
Melissa was a true public servant who dedicated her life to serving Minnesotans with integrity and compassion. May we all be instruments of peace like Melissa.

Happy National Seersucker Day! Great to join my colleagues from both sides of the aisle in kicking off summer with this time-honored tradition.
Last year, a horrific act of political violence took former speaker of the Minnesota House Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark Hortman from us.
Melissa was a good friend and she always led with integrity, courage, and a tenacious focus on improving people’s lives.

Met with advocates from the Alzheimer's Association to discuss my bipartisan AADAPT Act. Primary care providers are calling for more Alzheimer’s training resources to improve early detection, diagnosis, and care – my bipartisan legislation will deliver tools to support them.
