đź—˝ On this day in 1885, the Statue of Liberty arrived in New York Harbor in pieces, soon to be assembled into one of the Nation's most enduring symbols of freedom and hope.
More than 140 years later, Lady Liberty continues to inspire. The 2026 Enduring Liberty Half Dollar features a close-up portrait of Liberty, her steadfast gaze fixed on the future, while the reverse depicts her passing the torch to a new generation.
As we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, this design reflects the responsibility of each generation to carry forward the Nation's founding ideals, and the role of its people in sustaining a participatory democracy. 🇺🇸
