Global Methane Initiative (GMI)

GMI is a voluntary, multilateral partnership that aims to reduce global methane.

As of March 2024, we have 49 Partner Countries and the European Commission that have joined the Global Methane Initiative. Participation now includes the 10 largest methane emitting countries in the world and all told, Partners are responsible for nearly 70% of total man-made methane emissions.
