This week, AAHomecare's Regulatory Council met in Washington, D.C., to discuss key policy and regulatory issues impacting HME providers and the patients they serve.

Discussions focused on engagement with the Administration regarding ongoing regulatory challenges, including the upcoming Competitive Bidding Program and Medicare enrollment moratorium. The Council also reviewed advocacy priorities and strategies to support supplier access and patient care.

The AAHomecare Payer Transparency Portal now includes Medicaid fee schedules and the 2026 Medicare fee schedule, giving supplier members even more data to support reimbursement analysis, payer negotiations, and business planning.

During a recent discussion with CMS Administrator Oz, AAHomecare raised concerns about the Medicare enrollment moratorium and its impact on suppliers and patient access.

This week, Dr. Oz spoke with the media and addressed a question regarding the moratorium and referencing HME suppliers, stating, "We do not want to hurt the folks who are earnestly involved in hospice, DME suppliers, and personal care services. There are good people in these businesses, but we're going to slow down the growth of these sectors until we can get our arms around the problem."
