SECRETARY RUBIO: The situation in Cuba is devolving as the island’s corrupt, brutal and anti-American Communist regime continues to prioritize its own total control over the freedom, opportunity and basic wellbeing of the Cuban people.
The Cuban military-controlled conglomerate GAESA has persistently served as the main vector for regime elites to steal the island’s few resources, diverting them for repression, anti-American subversion and spying instead of schools, power plants, and basic necessities for the Cuban people. Today, I designated additional GAESA network entities associated with moving both its money and its physical assets, as well as entities responsible for exploiting Cuba’s mineral and metal reserves for ill-gotten profit.
Anyone providing services to these sanctioned actors is at risk of being sanctioned themselves. Foreign banks and other companies that provide services to these entities should freeze those activities immediately.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio will travel to the UAE, Kuwait, and Bahrain from June 23-25. He will meet with officials about a range of U.S. policy priorities including the MOU with Iran, efforts to secure full and free safe transit through the Strait of Hormuz, and discussing shared priorities across the region with Gulf Cooperation Council members.
The State Department is protecting Americans from foreign fraudsters by ensuring these foreigners can't travel to the United States.
We revoked the visas of these foreign nationals who swindled investors, looted taxpayer-funded programs, and abused our system:
A foreign national advising Americans on their investments stole millions of dollars from people trying to grow their businesses and savings, abusing their trust and wrecking their financial security. We won't tolerate fraud that harms hardworking Americans. Visa revoked.
One foreign national claimed to operate a legitimate business helping vulnerable patients access healthcare. Instead, this foreign national helped orchestrate a massive Medicaid scam - billing for over $5 million of fake services. Visa revoked.
A foreign national built a company on lies - faking revenue and fooling investors. This foreign national swindled millions of dollars from clients, then recycled the same false claims and forged letters to secure a visa. Visa revoked.
Under President Trump, the State Department is putting Americans first - defending our citizens from foreign nationals who work to defraud them, plunder taxpayer-funded programs, and abuse our visa system.
