SQCC was pleased to attend the Cultural Sail Away Reception hosted by the Embassy of Sweden aboard the Kalmar Nyckel on June 9.
It was a wonderful opportunity to spend two hours aboard this historic vessel, connect with members of the diplomatic and cultural communities, and engage in meaningful conversations in a unique setting.
Special thanks to the team at the Embassy of Sweden for the kind invitation and warm hospitality. We greatly enjoyed the experience and look forward to future opportunities for cultural exchange and collaboration.

The Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center took part in the opening night of EuroAsia Shorts 2026 last Friday, presenting two short films that carried this year's theme, Past / Present / Future, into the festival from its first evening.
"The Last Remaining" by Ali Al Baymani returned to the oldest traders of Bahla market, tracing what has kept them in place across decades and the knowledge that risks leaving with them. "Athar" by Mustafa Al Lawati followed three siblings into a mountain village, where a simple journey turned into something far less certain. Together the two films moved between memory and the present, holding onto what endures while questioning what gets left behind.
The program continues to its closing night this Friday, June 12, at the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center, where Oman joins all participating countries for the final showcase.
