The District is under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch, meaning heavy winds and rain are possible. Remember that heavy rain can quickly create dangerous driving conditions.
Never drive through flooded streets or standing water. If you see water covering the roadway, turn around and find a safer route. Even shallow water can stall vehicles or hide hazards. Please report issues to 311.

Applications are now open for the Autonomous Vehicle Observation Zone (AVO) Challenge! This challenge offers an innovative way for to explore how Autonomous Vehicles can operate in the city and provide valuable data. The winner will be eligible for a $50,000 contract to pilot their technology in DC. The application deadline is July 16, 2026.
